Ella Scott - Founder and Maker

A love of ceramics started in Collage and caused Ella to pursue a degree in Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland. She learnt hand building first and then throwing, which quickly became her primary method of making. During this degree, she developed her skills, knowledge and the style and the techniques that she uses, working in manuscript styles and heritage pottery.

She has developed her practice by learning how to dig her own clay and process it, working on a medieval pottery wheel and extensively researching historical pottery and styles.

She has volunteered at multiple Re-enactment Fairs and Events, displaying historical ceramics and discussing the life of Potters in the Middle Ages and has extensive experience running workshops and sessions introducing people to multiple forms of pottery and also maintaining groups over longer periods.

Aquamaniles and other sculpted decoration. I use both figurative sculpture and animalistic sculpture to capture humor, story and recreate medieval styles and works.
